.....writing an email to yourself in the future?

It does sound a bit lame, but I found this website where you can just do that. You can decide on a date in the future when you want to receive it, that could be in a few months time, but to make it a bit more interesting, maybe in a few YEARS time. You obvioulsy just got to make sure that you'll still have that email address. So, why not use the new years eve spirit to write something to yourself with wishes and plans that you have for the future, and see if they turned out right.

The first video is already a classic as far as I know, and might be quite amusing, especially for all of the "World of Warcraft" fans. But I thought it was hilarious, even tho I don't have a clue about it. I heard about it on the radio on Saturday, and we went on google straight after....Well anyway, just see what you think, and just listen what the guy comes up with at the end.

And then....Cyndi Lauper was on telly over here with her new song called " Into The Nightlife", and I absolutely love it. That brings back memories. *sigh*

Tokio Hotel win VMA's from a German point of view.......

I know everyone's been writing about the VMA's so far, but I just have to get this off my chest. I'm so effing proud of the boys. Not so long ago I said that it's a shame that German artists don't stand a chance to be successful outside Germany, especially when they're singing in German, and I still can't really believe that we've got a international successful band out there now. And I'm so incredibly happy that this seems to be only the beginning of a very successful career for Tokio Hotel.

The kids today probably didn't have to go through what I had to go through when I was a teenager, because it wasn't cool in my teenage years to be German. I'm still a generation who had to suffer from what my grandparents generation has caused, and believe me, I'm still incredibly sad and sorry about that fact. There are no words for it really. But I can't change it anymore, I really wish I could, but I can proudly say that my family was always a very social family, and that my mum didn't have a very happy childhood and still doesn't like to talk about what she had to go through herself. I know this isn't an excuse, but it's sad to know that your own parents had to suffer in one way or the other. You might ask what's that got to do with Tokio Hotel winning an award? I can tell you, that is kind of a relieve for me that I don't have to be embarrassed anymore to be German.

I'm so happy for the boys and I hope that this is only the beginning of their success and that it might open the doors for other German artists who deserve to be heard.

I can only say thank you for everyone who gave them a chance in the first place........It just shows you even more, that it doesn't matter anymore who you are, or where you come from, if we all work towards the same goal then we can make good things happen, and even if it's just to help Tokio Hotel win an award........... = )

I found out about this project by the French artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand. He has this project where he's asking people from all over the planet the same questions, such as 'What is the meaning of life'? and 'What is happiness'? You can watch the clips on www.6billionothers.org where he hopes to draw a portrait of mankind. He was also behind the book 'Earth from Above'. So if you liked that.......... I think it's a fantastic idea, and I watched some clips. Some are funny, some are thought-provoking.......well, just check it out. Oh, and they are still searching for some translators, if anyone's interested. = )

HAMBURG !!!!

Tomorrow I'm off to my lovely hometown Hamburg. I'm really getting excited now. Can't wait to see my family and my friends and finally be able to smell the Hamburg air again. ; ) Last time I've been back was last May, but it seems like a long time. I've got so many things I want to do and I hope I'll manage to fulfill my mission.

Here are a few pictures I found on the net, just to give you an impression what it's like. Of course this looks all beautiful and colourful, and of course Hamburg's got it's grot spots, but that's what makes a big city. But I love the whole diversity and all the different cultures and influences. So, see you soon guys. * huggles to all of you*

This just happened to be a club where a friend of mine worked.

And then, last but not least: The famous Schmidt Theater, where you can see all sorts of Shows. You won't believe it, but I've actually seen Verona Feldbusch on stage here. Oh and Helge Schneider. LOL! Gotta love that man.

History of German Rap and Hip-Hop! Part 2

Sooooo, this is my second part of German rap and hip-hop artists.

Today we're watching some vids from my second favourite band, and this time they're from my hometown Hamburg. Better not to take them too seriously, because it's what they call 'Fun Rap', and that's basically what it is.

The band is called 'Fettes Brot' ( Fat Bread!? ) and they've been around since 1992, but they still exist. They have been nominated for an Echo this year, but they didn't win anything. = (

You should pretty much get an idea what's going on here. It is basically about being born in the North of Germany and being from Hamburg. The band consist of three guys but two other northern rap artists took part, who went solo later on. I might come back to that later. Sorry, but the video quality isn't that great, but I couldn't find a better one.

My cold has come back again. I just can't believe it. I was perfectly fine yesterday, but my first day at work today, after being off since Thursday, and I have a sore throat again. WHY?

But I don't want to complain, because I know that there are people out there, who have a lot more on their minds at the moment. I wish I could do something to make them feel better ( Maybe you know who I'm talking about ! ) and even if I would have to live with a sore throat for the rest of my life, I would do it, in exchange for them to be happy! I send out all possible positive thoughts and hope they reach the ones that I'm thinking of. It did work for Dr. Who! ; )

Oh and thanks for the Tarot game meridian star. I really had to laugh hard about the first question. Are you male , female, Androgynous or Hermaphoditic? WHOT?

Oh and I really hope that this isn't an April fool joke, about the Twins being on Conan O'Brian ( ? ). That is absolutely fantastic, if I may say. That's a huge deal in my opinion, and will open quite a few other doors for them. Let's hope so at least.

SO SAD!

I'm so sad and shocked because I only found out today that a 14 year old girl who has done her work experience in our shop, has died in a car accident yesterday. And she's not only done her work experience in our salon, she's also the daughter of one of my customers and her and her husband are friends with other customers of mine. I just can't believe it. I still remember her so well, and that we were laughing because my boss had to send her home early on a Saturday, because she wasn't used to working at the weekends, and she looked really tired. She was such a lovely girl and had the whole life ahead of her. Apparantly the driver was speeding and was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I am so so sorry for the parents and I'm already worried what to say to that lady when she comes into the salon next time. They only had her.

I'm so sad and if I could change time, so that she could live again, I would put someone into her place that would've deserved to die. She surely didn't. I'm so glad to have known her, even if it was only for a short time of her life. I will never forget you!

First of all, thank you so much tiggerdabounce2 and meridian_star for my lovely christmas cards. I loved them and it meant a lot to me.

And also thanks to lirren, beren_writes, thwax, 4am_secret, evening_roseand allslashedout for being such fantastic people that made 2007 such a year to remember.
We created THI and worked so well together and that's something that we can be very proud of, I think.

Let's hope that 2008 will be a fantastic year for all of us.

So, Merry Christmas to all my flist friends ( please forgive me, if I forgot to mention someone ). Have a smashing New Year! And I hope that all your wishes for the new year will come true.

Yes I admit I have been naughty today and opened up the christmas prezzies that my sister sent over from Hamburg. Well I couldn't resist it anyway because the package was totally screwed. It was near enough ripped apart and I think the card is missing. =( But I had to open the prezzies and couldn't wait. I've got a ' Starflash ' magazine with an article about Bill and the secret of his success. LOL! And there was a CD with Bands from Hamburg, which I had to listen to already and I love it. That made my day!

Unfortunately tho.....Royal Mail sucks. Still haven't got my Tokio Hotel DVD. We ordered it on HMV but apparently it got delivered on the 9th of December and it must be on it's way, but where is it? Will I be able to watch it before christmas? Trying to track it down at the moment but ever tried to get through to the sorting office before christmas? Good luck!!!

I wish I could be able to tell you how much I miss you. All my life. I was too young to say goodbye and never really understood why you just dissapeared out of our lifes. We had difficult times and wonderful times but I only remember, because they tell me, or I remember a photograph with us. I can't tell anyone what kind of a person you were or how your view on life was. How much you there is in me. What made you the person that you were? Where did you come from, what were your dreams?
